Home Health Intake/Scheduling Supervisor (Work From Home)
The Home Health Intake Supervisor oversees the intake and referral process to ensure timely, accurate onboarding of patients into home health services.
 
This role leads the intake team, coordinates communication between referral sources, clinicians, and internal departments, and ensures compliance with agency policies, payer requirements, and regulatory standards.
 
Key Responsibilities
Supervise, train, and support intake/scheduling coordinators, ensuring consistent workflow and quality performance.
Find coverage if team member(s) are sick or out for any reason
Be able to step into Intake/Scheduling role when business needs are not being met and/or team member(s) are out
Manage daily intake/scheduling operations, including referral review, data entry, insurance verification, and authorization processes.
Ensure timely processing of referrals and coordination of start-of-care scheduling.
Communicate with physicians, hospitals, case managers, and payers to gather necessary documentation and clarify orders.
Review referral documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with agency and regulatory requirements (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers, etc.).
Monitor staff productivity, performance metrics, and caseload volume to ensure efficient operations.
Collaborate with clinical leadership to match patient needs with appropriate clinicians and schedules.
Identify workflow issues, implement process improvements, and maintain high standards of customer service.
Assist with resolving insurance authorization delays or complex referral barriers.
Maintain accurate records and prepare intake reports for leadership.
Participate in quality assurance, compliance audits, and staff evaluations.
Support accreditation and regulatory readiness (Joint Commission/ACHC/CHAP, as applicable).
Qualifications
Previous experience in home health team supervision required.
Strong knowledge of home health regulations, referral processes, scheduling processes and insurance verification.
Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (WellSky Kinnser) and Google Suite.
