Job Description
The Category Manager is mainly responsible when it comes to conceptualizing, planning, developing, implementing and executing marketing plans, initiatives and activities for assigned category. This includes the uncovering of consumer insights and delivering innovative marketing campaigns or promotions. He/she will also generate marketing strategies that can grow our market share and brand reputation while improving customer experience and drive sales growth. Other key responsibilities include category portfolio management, category target achievement, marketing plan implementation, and evaluation and consistent brand messaging delivery.
Must consider the following factors when making purchasing decisions:
a. Customer demand, including price, quality, and availability
b. Market trends
c. Store policy
d. Financial Budgets
Analyzing consumer buying patterns and predicting future trends
Regularly reviewing performance indicators, such as sales and discount levels
Managing plans for stock levels
Reacting to changes in demand and logistics
Meeting suppliers and negotiating terms of contract
Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers and sourcing new suppliers for future products
Liaising with other departments with the company to ensure projects are completed
Attending trade fairs, to select and assemble a new collection of products
Participating in promotional activities
Writing reports and forecasting sales levels
Presenting new ranges to senior management team
Liaising with Sales team to ensure supply meets demand
Getting feedback from customers
Qualifications
Essential
Must be graduate of Management, Marketing, or any related commerce courses
A degree with a minimum of 3 years related experience in Retail or comes from a company in the same or similar industry
Experience in Merchandising role with a major Retailer
Experience in sourcing overseas, in particular China.
Experience in Demand Planning
Experience in managing a product Category and track record on leading a Product Launch. Has proven track record on delivering Sales targets and managing category budgets
Experience in conceptualizing and executing on various projects with a high degree of success
Desirable
Work related to E-commerce, online platforms such as Lazada, Shopee, Zalora.
