About You
The Commercial & Customer Marketing role has a huge responsibility in delivering our growth plan through excellent management of our Philippines TR customer & world class execution business plans.
Function
Travel Retail (TR) is a profit centre within the Strategic Partnerships (SP) BU. Within TR, the Philippines TR accounts for a third (pre-COVID) of the Net Sales Value (NSV) generated by total TR. While Philippines TR has one customer, there are -20 stores across the country.
About the Role
The business operates within a very ambiguous environment with complex market conditions, stakeholders & consumers.
Specifically, as the title of the role suggests, there are two distinct facets to the role which need to work: Commercial and Customer/Trade Marketing
Commercial:
Manage & deliver the P&L and lead the S&OP process.
Forecast across all metrics: shipments, depletions, A&P spends
Audit and review customer performance vs. agreed KPIs
Hold customer to account and agree action plans to close gaps in business delivery
Be an entrepreneur with a creative mindset, and deliver interventions to over achieve KPIs whilst closing any risks to plan
Be an expert at commercial scenario planning and be flexible to switch between scenarios given a constantly evolving travel landscape
Lead cross-functional team work with finance, supply and marketing
Build outstanding relationships, and maintain these despite difficult commercial negotiations is critical for success in the role
Work with Global Supply to ensure all are brands have Certificates of Product Registration from Food and Drug Administration prior to importation.
Customer Marketing:
Build and execute customer marketing plans that delight consumers at the POP and build outstanding experiences for our consumers whilst still delivering category growth and growing Diageo share
Ensure airport level world class Every Day Great Execution, timely communication, design etc. is as per Diageo Global Brand Standards
Ensure complete compliance & governance for all projects is in place & relevant SOAs/Policies adhered to without question
Lead a team of on-ground merchandisers and Brand Ambassadors to ensure quality execution of plans
Lead and work with agencies in both Philippines as well as overseas to develop and execute various assets such as creatives, branded premium items, visibility POS, etc. Lead last mile importation of premiums into Philippines, and installation of assets in stores.
Unearth consumer insights and transform the same into actions to win share from competitors and drive sales
Experience required/Skills/Capabilities/Languages
A Bachelors degree with mininum 7 years' experience in Sales, Business Development and Trade/Customer Marketing.
Strong, broad, and proven track record of performance delivery with previous experience of P&L accountability and direct customer engagement at a senior level
Agile in being able to move from strategy planning to execution/implementation with pace
An expert in relationship building while being able to balance the needs and performance of both Diageo and Customer aided by strong financial acumen, solid negotiation abilities, Influencing skills and interpersonal skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex topics and ideas in a clear and lucid manner, especially to senior stakeholders
Must be proficient in MS Office including knowledge of advanced formulas and pivot tables in Excel
Self-starter, Highly motivated and resourceful; ability to work both independently and through functional support teams
Comfortable working with ambiguity and resilient
Able to inspire a multifunctional sales team and bring the team on a journey to success
Proficient speaker of the Filipino and English languages. Chinese speaking is a PLUS
