LOB Overview
The Cost Basis Processing team supports record maintenance requests from client associates (CAs) and financial advisors (FAs) in the updating and/or adjusting of cost basis information on the original value (purchase price) of an asset for tax purposes of the client's account.
The position will be mainly responsible for the following tasks:
1) Account Valuations - this process creates a report containing the valuation of securities held in a brokerage accounts for a specified date. Requests come through the Service Requests (SR) system housed in Smart Station.
2) Data Downloads - this process ensures proper documentation and processing for the establishment of daily data feeds containing client accounts information. Requests for daily account data come through a group e-mail box from various sources. Requests can come from the field, which can be Wells Fargo Advisors (WFA) financial advisors or First Clearing Correspondent Firms, which area also called Sub Firms. Requests can also come from third parties such as accounting firms, family offices, and vendors that perform compliance surveillance, performance reporting, or asset management activities.
About the Role
Internally known as Securities Operation Service Specialist 2. The SOSS 2 will join the Client Reporting team (Cost Basis Processing) and be responsible for processing Valuation reports and Data Download Requests.
Responsibilities:
Processing reports related to client account valuations.
Coordinating and processing important requests to establish client account data feeds to be sent to customer firms and/or external parties.
Assisting with the training of new staff members that join the team.
Supporting financial advisors and their staff with questions related to client account valuation reports and client account data feeds.
Acting as subject matter expert for client account valuation reports and client account data feeds
Providing input to management to improve efficiency and accuracy of all processing duties
Market Skills and Certifications
Essential Qualifications:
Completed 2nd year in College (Bachelor's Degree course)
2-3 years of working experience (back office support) in the BPO/Contact Center industry
Preferred background in securities operations (e.g trade processing, trade booking, brokerage services, derivatives, fixed income, etc
Excellent problem solving, analytical and technical skills with ability to apply critical judgment and come up with effective decisions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency for detailed documentation with ability to validate work.
High proficiency with Microsoft Program
Ability to adapt to a fast paced environment and perform under pressure with a high motivation and able to meet stringent deadlines with strong sense of urgency and results and detail orientation.
Ability to plan, prioritize and execute a body of work with minimal supervision.
Exceptional research, data entry and exception handling skills.
Flexibility to work in night shifts, or weekends/holidays if deemed necessary by the business.
Possess an impeccable reputation for integrity, accuracy, consistency and business acumen.
Highly analytical and keen to details
