About the role
 
The Customer Service Representative belongs to the Operations Department, This role involves receipt of inbound calls for the purpose of verification of benefits and answering questions from providers. The benefits service representative will maintain knowledge of health claims, coding, and processing guidelines. The benefits service representative is a key position in the team that requires communication of accurate, courteous, and clear information to all callers. Highly-developed organizational and effective communication skills are a must. Specific responsibilities:
Answer a high volume of inbound calls and maintain a rapid response rate according to the agreed/standard metrics.
Log/notate call information where required.
Maintain effective relationships with co-workers, and supervisors, while displaying professionalism, efficiency, and courtesy.
Maintain great customer service communications with providers and other departments.
Research and resolve customer inquiries.
Maintain a working knowledge of Excel and Word.
Complete forms for follow-up with other departments.
Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role. 
Advise department or unit of possible issues by trending types of calls received. 
Complete projects assigned by the manager.
Attend mandatory workshops and team meetings.
Perform other duties deemed appropriate.
Who we're looking for
• 1 year of customer service/call center experience
• Medical background is a plus (medical office, medical facility, etc.).
• Bilingual candidates is a plus (English and Spanish)
• Excellent organizational, written/verbal communication skills, ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of quality. 
• Adaptability and flexibility in a changing environment required.
