Job Summary:
 
The Assistant Project Manager will support the Senior Project Manager in overseeing and ensuring the successful implementation of nationwide IT projects. This role requires close collaboration with project stakeholders, technical teams, and regional offices to meet project objectives within specified timelines and budgets. The ideal candidate must have strong project management skills, stakeholder engagement abilities, and a solid understanding of IT project lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Senior Project Manager in overseeing project activities across assigned regions.
Assist in developing and maintaining comprehensive project plans, ensuring alignment with objectives, scope, deliverables, and milestones.
Monitor daily implementation tasks to ensure that project timelines and deliverables are met.
Coordinate with technical leads, developers, and support staff to facilitate smooth operations.
Act as a liaison between regional teams and the project management office to enhance communication and coordination.
Prepare progress reports and escalate project risks to the Senior Project Manager.
Support risk and issue management by identifying, assessing, mitigating, and reporting potential challenges.
Engage stakeholders to gather requirements, communicate project updates, and efficiently manage change requests.
Ensure quality control processes are in place by conducting regular reviews and addressing compliance issues.
Assist in managing vendor relationships, from selection and contract negotiations to performance monitoring.
Provide support in implementing project governance frameworks and best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
At least three (3) years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably in IT projects.
Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, and Trello.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Willingness to travel to regional offices as needed.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
Understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and the software development lifecycle.
Proficiency in risk management, quality assurance, and change management processes.
Experience in vendor selection, contract negotiations, and performance monitoring.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and leadership in managing project teams.
