Responsibilities:
Develop and motivate tax seniors and associates by reviewing their work and providing them with counseling, leadership and career guidance;
Work with clients to minimize their federal, state, and local tax liability;
Identifying and mitigating tax risks;
Providing innovative tax planning and reviewing of complex tax returns;
Supervises the engagement (job) project management, billing, ensures QC (technical) standards;
Delivering a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations;
Develops engagement team (prepares seniors to the next level);
Learn and begin to apply growth process (participates in assigned RC,, pipeline support, COPs, etc.);
Assigning work and ensuring tasks and responsibilities are completed;
Develop and deliver innovative financial planning ideas that meet or exceed client expectations;
Provide tax compliance and consulting to a diverse base of corporate clients in a variety of industries;
Supervise tax associates' assignments and manage the day-to-day delivery of tax consulting services to the client;
Develop recommendations and implementation plans for clients and team members;
Serve clients' specific needs, and identify value-added solutions for clients;
Conduct tax research.
Requirements:
Knowledge and understanding of accounting including bookkeeping and journal entry preparation required;
Able to manage multiple complex projects and deliver in a timely manner;
Licensed CPA, or nonCPA
4 or more years' experience in public accounting with an emphasis on Tax;
5-8 years of progressive tax experience in a public accounting setting, including review experience;
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and a polished demeanor;
Ability or interest in generating and building business, ability to delegate work and manage staff;
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, engineering, technology, or related field;
Experience mentoring and training more junior level team members;
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a professional services organization with a taxation focus;
Extensive experience in researching tax issues and exposure to a variety of entities and individual tax issues;
Demonstrates proactive thinking;
Experience developing and training associate level professionals.
