Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the preparation, review, and submission of accurate and timely tax filings, including BAS, GST, PAYG, and income tax returns, in accordance with Australian tax regulations.
Provide expert guidance on tax matters to internal teams, ensuring adherence to tax laws, regulations, and changes that may impact business operations.
Collaborate with the finance team to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide strategic insights to support decision-making and drive operational efficiency.
Monitor changes in tax legislation, stay up-to-date with industry developments, and proactively advise the company on potential impacts and opportunities.
Manage end-to-end payroll processes, including reconciliations, superannuation, and reporting to relevant authorities.
Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting process, providing financial expertise to develop realistic financial targets.
Work closely with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure accurate representation of financial information.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the finance team, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CA certification preferred.
Minimum 3 years' of experience in accounting and taxation, with a focus on Australian tax regulations and compliance.
Strong knowledge of ATO requirements, GST, PAYG, and other relevant taxation laws.
Proficiency in accounting software Xero, MYOB, and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Effective English communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with various stakeholders.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
