Acts as the primary contact person/responsible in managing the accounting, tax, audit and related financial and regulatory reporting functions of Regional Office.
Main Accountabilities:
Completes the monthly closing activities of Regional Office within the specified 5-day close timeline
Performs the booking of Regional Office monthly accounting transactions such as but not limited to inter company transactions (e.g settlement, billing, fixed charges), accruals, prepayments, disbursements, etc.
Ensures the timely and proper recording of charge back transactions/entries to other business units as specified and advised in the document
Updates and provides the monthly schedules of prepayment, accrual list, staff reserve, account receivable (A/R), depreciation file, etc to the Regional Office
Handles the treasury and/or disbursement function of the Regional Office
Executes the monthly reconciliation process including the preparation of the report package
Runs the monthly trial balance and ledgers for checking and analysis
Prepares and submits various monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements, notes and disclosures to the Regional Office and/or Corporate
Handles the Business Continuity Program document of the unit including it's annual update and/or changes
Assists external auditors on the yearly audit requirements.
Performs duties as assigned by RAC Team Lead and/or Director, RAC Head, SLF Asia.
Preferred skills :
Good IFRS and accounting knowledge and skills
Advanced MS Excel skills
Decent verbal and written communications skills plus excellent listening skills
Capable of multitasking and working in multi-cultural environment
Proactive, team player, a quick learner and be able to meet tight deadlines
Knowledgeable in computerized accounting systems such as Sun Systems and/or Oracle/SAP is a plus
Experience in accounting system migration/upgrade is a plus
Qualifications :
Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Accounting or BS Accountancy
Certified Public Accountant is a must
Minimum of combined 8-years of working experience in sizable multinational companies and/or insurance industry dealing with closing activities, financial statements preparation, reconciliation
