THE OPPORTUNITY
Plan International will implement a one-year project called Wired for Work 2.0. This is the 2nd phase of the youth economic project that aims to expand the usage of developed digital tools for supply-demand employment matching and enterprise development services to young women and young men in the project areas in Cebu, Tacloban, QC, Valenzuela, and Occidental Mindoro.
The Project Manager manages the day-to-day operation and overall project coordination to ensure a good working relationship with project partners and donors.
Further, as the Project Manager:
You will lead the targeting and selection process of youth participants based on the standard selection process/guidelines.
You will lead the development of new digital products to promote decent jobs and to expand their use to provide entrepreneurship services including online product marketing and DTI business registration.
You will ensure the submission of periodic reporting to the Grants Team and project donors.
You will liaise with other NGO partners and government agencies to ensure coordination on program implementation on the ground.
You will directly supervise two full-time staff and manage partnerships with both government and private sectors.
Plan International is a development and humanitarian organization. In exceptional cases, you will be asked to support emergency response activities in the communities in your assigned covered areas.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
To be successful in the role you will need among other things:
University degree in Economics, Community Development, Information Technology, and/or any related field. A post-graduate degree is an advantage.
Has relevant training on participatory research and monitoring & evaluation methods, project proposal development, micro-enterprise development, micro-finance management, with a background related to the design and development of an online learning platform
Has at least five (5) years of experience in development work.
At least three (3) years of experience in implementing youth development projects, technical research and value chain analysis, planning, developing, and managing community development work-related projects.
Has demonstrated the ability to manage budgets and programs.
Applicants must have the right to work in the Philippines without restrictions. Local applicants are preferred.
