The Intermediate File Engineering Specialist is responsible for providing support within the File Engineering Department in the Customer Operations team of Unbabel. The main objective for the role is to enable the successful and sustainable delivery of Unbabel File Engineering services. Your success in this role comes from effectively managing your projects/tasks and working closely with Technical Consultants and Project Managers in the field. You naturally have a consultative approach and are happy and willing to partner with Account Managers and Project Managers to help customers successfully integrate their content into the Unbabel platform.
Requirements
Responsibilities
Champion strong processes and data hygiene while maintaining alignment to evolving service definitions and standard operating procedures;
Be openly consultative, collaborative and a subject matter expert with PMs/AMs to help them align customers to standardised workflows and automation capabilities;
Create sustainable and repeatable workflows by documenting and sharing knowledge;
Perform file conversions leveraging our world class tools to consume and deliver customer content;
Support new and challenging file formats and layouts, examples include XML, XLIFF, properties files, strings, PO file types);
Track your progress regularly leveraging JIRA service desk;
Maintain a high quality experience for your internal and external customers by responding and actioning tickets in a timely manner;
Respond to your internal customers;
Mentor with less experienced staff to help them be more effective in managing workflows and providing better FE services;
Be a critical thinker who subscribes to continuous improvement and has pride in being part of a world class organisation
Actively participate in Initiatives to improve the way we work by contributing code, documentation and automation.

Job requirements
Knowledge of common translation interchange formats and document types, together with their associated challenges. Including but not limited to:
XML
XLIFF
Office Formats - Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
Programming Formats - JSON, YAML, PO, properties
Knowledge of translation technology components and experience with one or more products in each area of:
Translation Management Systems
Computer Assisted Translation Tools
Translation Memory
Machine Translation
Experience with file format editors such as:
Advanced Text Editors and/or IDEs
Microsoft Office
Information Technology based degree (desirable)
Demonstrable problem solving skills in a time-critical, technology led environment.
Good organisational skills, with the ability to work independently as well as in a highly collaborative, team-based environment.
Good written, verbal communication and presentation skills
