Job Description
The Corporate Communications and Media Relations Specialist is responsible for conceptualizing, developing and implementing communication strategies and messages to reflect and support our business and brand objectives. He/She will ensure that our messages are clear and consistent to build, protect, and enhance our brand and reputation. This includes conceptualizing tools and channels best suited to our target audience.
Media and other external stakeholders play an important role in communicating our messages to a larger audience and therefore a key function of the Corporate Communication Specialist is the ability to liaise, work with media & the press, to ensure that the right messages are delivered.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Corporate Communications
Develop and implement a corporate communication strategy which reflect our business and brand objectives
Ensure the delivery of consistent messaging throughout all external and internal communications, and corporate brand material in the most relevant and timely manner
Write, edit, and distribute content, such as press releases, newsletters, speeches and annual reports
Copyedit, proofread and revise communications when necessary
Update and implement the Crisis Communication Plan to support our key initiative on risk management and business continuity
Media Relations
Develop and strengthen relationships with the media (national and regional), bloggers and other influential personalities to maximize reach and influence
Provide management with timely, accurate information on industry trends, media intelligence and other relevant information for effective decision making. This includes major issues that may affect our overall reputation and business
Account Management
Serve as the lead point-of-contact for all communication matters
Build and maintain strong & harmonious relationships with other departments and BU's
Liaise with other departments and business units to ensure that communication materials are consistent with established brand guidelines
Ensure the timely and successful delivery of branding & communication solutions according to the division's needs and objectives
Other Tasks
Support and collaborate Brand, Marketing & CSR related initiatives, projects, and events
Performs other related activities that may be assigned by immediate superior
Qualifications
Educational Requirement:
Must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Communications, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing or any equivalent course
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
At least three (3) years of professional experience in the related field
CRITICAL SKILLS OR COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Strong command of the English & Filipino language, both written and oral
Able to write clear, concise and grammatically correct communications
Good communication and organizational skills
Must be a proactive worker who can work with minimum to no supervision
Able to handle pressure and deliver on deadlines
Excellent people skills and enjoys working as part of a team
