The Role: Business Development Representative (BDR)
Join our team as a Business Development Representative (BDR) and become a cornerstone in the expansion of our IT managed services. In this role, you are tasked with spearheading the initiation of new business ventures by generating leads, fostering potential client relationships, and guiding closing opportunities. Your aim is to identify and engage with prospective clients, gather their requirements, and clearly define the solutions our services offer to their business obstacles.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Generating Leads:
- Scout for prospective clients and cultivate qualified leads using strategies like cold calls, email outreach, networking events, and leveraging social media.
- Engage in comprehensive market research to grasp the nuances of the target audience, current industry dynamics, and the competitive landscape to fine-tune outreach efforts.
2. Engaging and Building Client Relations:
- Kickstart conversations with potential clients, assess their needs, and enlighten them on our software solutions.
- Establish and nurture pivotal relationships with essential stakeholders, aligning our solutions with their needs through understanding their challenges.
- Execute product demos and presentations to highlight our software solutions' unique value propositions.
3. Managing Opportunities:
- Work in tandem with the sales team to filter leads into actionable sales opportunities.
- Maintain and cultivate the sales pipeline, ensuring leads are actively followed up on, inquiries are addressed, and opportunities are progressively advanced.
- Engage in consistent follow-ups to maintain interest and establish trust with prospects.
4. Gathering Market Intelligence:
- Keep abreast of industry shifts, market trends, and competitor strategies to unearth new business opportunities and refine our service offerings.
- Supply insightful feedback to our marketing and product development teams to bolster our market position and product strategies.
5. Assisting Sales and Reporting:
- Aid the sales team in crafting sales materials, proposals, and contracts.
- Keep meticulous records of prospect interactions and sales activities, ensuring the CRM system is continually updated.
- Generate periodic reports and forecasts for the management, spotlighting critical metrics and insights.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in business-to-business sales.
- Demonstrable track record in IT services sales.
- Prior role experience in Business Development or sales within the software sector.
- A bachelor's degree in computer sciences, Software Development, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective prospect engagement and relationship management.
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, with a knack for influencing key decision-makers.
- A self-starter who is results-driven and committed to achieving targets.
- Skilled in CRM software and other sales technologies.
- A good understanding of software development processes and industry-specific terminologies.
- Capable of operating both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic setting.
- Hubspot software experience is a plus
- Capable of doing cold calling with strong hunting skills is a plus
