THE POSITION
The position holder is responsible for the execution of end-to-end Regional Asset Accounting procedures and compliance with Asset Accounting-related standards and controls, as part of the GBS service portfolio. He/she will work closely with stakeholders in the local finance teams, with the Center Network, and with Corporate Finance. The job holder will perform Asset Accounting and Capital Expenditure periodic routines for GBS legal entities and will serve as the first-level support for topics within the area of designation.
Tasks & responsibilities
Perform Asset Accounting processes and ensure compliance in all served GBS legal entities
Capitalization, sale, disposal and modification of assets
Asset retirement by scrapping
Plan, perform and monitor month-end closing procedures such as depreciation runs and sub-ledger to GL reconciliations
Handling of CapEx projects during the entire investment life cycle (approval, structuring, opening, maintenance and closing
Provide user requirements for system development and maintenance and check systems for accuracy
Definition and maintenance of general system settings (e.g. customized asset classes, capitalization rules)
Supervise the day-to-day business (e.g. check open-item accounts for wrong postings)
First level support for Asset Accounting related topics for the assigned companies to the sub-ledger responsible
Periodic standard checks (e.g. closed cost center, not entered assets, assets under construction)
Corrective actions if necessary including documentation and archiving of the respective issues
Support and liaise with auditors, as needed
Prepare and contribute in defined special projects, topics and/or working packages
Review of changes in accounting principles for assigned comprehensive tasks
Preparation of necessary implementation efforts;
Support the integration of OPUs and functions into the GBSC
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in accounting department of a large-scale enterprise preferably, asset accounting in a shared service set-up
Strong foundation in basic accounting
Good communication and interaction skills
English fluency in writing and speaking
Knowledge in MS-Office and database applications (SAP FI-AA)
Good analytical and conceptual thinking
Teamwork and collaboration spirit
Project-related experience
Flexible to shift assignments
