This role is primarily responsible for planning, developing and implementing various link building and outreach campaigns for William Hill UK websites to improve organic search rankings, increase search visibility and drive more site traffic via search.
As part of standard SEO best practice, there will be a healthy amount of link audit, competitor backlink analysis, and on-page optimization. Additionally, the ideal candidate must always look for improvements and new ideas to the established workflow & strategy, stay up-to-date with latest industry developments, and will be working closely with Gibraltar-based team to support SEO activities.
Local remit for link building and outreach
· Use advanced search techniques in Google and various SEO tools to identify potential link opportunities.
· Refine results by following important metrics such as Majestic values, domain authority, uniqueness/freshness of content, has active social engagement, etc.
· Reach out to relevant bloggers, website owners and organizations to create successful partnerships and promote engaging digital content.
· Liaise with the SEO content team to provide expertise on how best to create engaging digital content.
· Monitor brand mentions online and ask publishers for link attribution.
· Identify broken and lost links on websites and replace with valuable link.
· Find misspelled domains and contact publishers for correction.
· Find authority resource pages that are related to the brand's industry.
Link audit/Competitor backlink analysis
· Get the most complete list of backlinks for WH UK websites for the purpose of eliminating all links that may threaten rankings and maintain a clean and natural backlink profile.
· Analyze backlink profile as a whole by determining the anchor text distribution/diversity, do follow/no follow attribute ratio, keywords and linked-to pages.
· Check how the WH UK backlink profile compares to our main competitor's backlink profiles by identifying our site's strong and weak points and provide insights on what will help us outrank them.
· Spot potentially unnatural or suspicious links manually and perform link removal by asking webmasters to take these links down.
· Disavow links that were not removed and submit it to Google so as to give an indication to discount these links when assessing our sites for ranking.
On-page optimization
· Optimize all WH UK sites with descriptive and efficient metadata.
· Implement metadata on all WH UK pages via Content stack.
· Evaluate and improve internal linking strategy.
Research and analysis
· Identify SEO trends & best practices and stay up-to-date with latest industry developments.
· Research and implement search engine optimization recommendations.
· Always look for improvements and new ideas to the established workflow and strategy.
