What we're looking for
We're looking for a Sr. SEO Specialist--someone who is obsessed with the latest SEO developments and how they can impact their clients.
Our Sr. Specialist needs to have experience in writing 360-degree SEO strategies that incorporate content and on-page tactics, outreach and link building and technical SEO.
We need someone who is happy to slot in with our existing content and outreach teams and help steer the ship, directing our expert resources to deliver results against client strategies.
We're not expecting someone to come in and do it all. We have fully functioning teams who are experts in building links and creating content. What we need is someone to orchestrate the choir and direct our expert delivery teams against a strategy that is in harmony with our clients' needs and expected results.
We need someone who not only has the love for SEO but the passion and confidence in their own abilities to be accountable for client performance.
As a Sr. Specialist, you'll be liaising with our Client Manager. You will have to work closely with them and ensure you're collaborating effectively to cater to the clients' needs.
You will be client-facing when required--but as you'll be working with the Client Manager, you do not need to do any account management. Instead, you'll be the subject matter expert in the room, brought on to talk through what's needed to deliver results.
You'll also need to pick up some hands-on technical SEO work, that might include anything from a site health check to a domain migration, but you'll have SEO Executives to support with this work. This also means you'll have the ability to train other SEOs and help improve our processes.
Role Responsibilities:
Working with clients to define their KPIs in order to write their strategy
Developing complete strategies for our SaaS clients that incorporate on-page SEO, content production, technical SEO and link building.
Delegating work to our technical SEOs, content writers and link builders to ensure all the resources available to you are working inline with your strategy and delivering you the results you need.
In-depth keyword research and keyword analysis.
You will be expected to define the correct content approaches for our clients, identifying not only what keywords we should rank them for to deliver results, but also what type of content we need to create to rank and how we are getting to get that content to rank.
We're looking for someone who isn't afraid of some deep work in a spreadsheet. What some agencies just consider keyword research, we consider the crux of a strategy, defining where that keyword sits in the client's customer funnel and how realistic it is to rank for that keyword against the competitors with the available client budget is a huge part of the initial strategy, which you'll be responsible for.
Creating client reports (our preference is Data Studio, but we're not precious if you have a better solution).
Training new Strategists
Forecasting and projecting what work is needed, work with the project manager to understand what resource is needed now and for new clients we hope to take on.
Working with the head of operations on improving our current processes and defying new ones we don't yet have.
Working with the client manager on client retention and upselling presentations
Being a part of pitches, if needed, to help tie-up prospective clients with how we onboard them.
Skills required for the role include:
At least 3-5 years of previous or current experience as an SEO Specialist
Link-Building experience is necessary due to the nature of the role.
Skilled when it comes to keyword research, analytics & other digital marketing techniques
Responsible & can be a productive member of the team
Has a keen attention to detail & good at following instructions
Must be flexible & a problem-solver when it comes to client management & other day-to-day tasks
Good at collaborating & providing feedback, as well as accepting feedback from the team
Having excellent spoken & written English is a must, as well as having a very good understanding of Google Sheets/Microsoft Excel.
You must have a strong & reliable internet connection & pc/laptop
