At Jacobs, we know that when it comes to a world that's smarter, more connected and more sustainable, digital solutions are an important thread linking it all together.
In our digital advisory work, we're leveraging innovative technologies and big data analytics to solve the world's most critical challenges. From shaping the safer cities of tomorrow, to protecting against climate change - we're combining diverse talents with deep client-application experience and digital intelligence to deliver solutions that connect people and places with the means to work smarter and live better, and make an enduring, positive difference in the world.
As a Product Manager in the Digital Advisory/Products Team (Intelligent Systems Section), you will primarily contribute to digital value via the creation of products for both internal and external clients. The Product Manager will be pivotal in the creation of desirable, feasible and viable products, through careful liaison with: existing and potential customers; internal domain subject matter experts (SMEs); technical leads; sales, marketing, commercial and legal representatives; and the product sponsor and digital product governance board.
The role will entail the identification and development of products/solutions that harness digital opportunities supporting various functional groups (Power, Water, Environment, Transport, Digital Solutions). This could either be delivering an existing service in a better way (automation) or creating a new offering (augmentation). With a seeming abundance of opportunities, the challenge is understanding the business opportunity and scaling the best ideas fast. This means incubating new solutions fast and communicating about these new solutions to users and customers.
Ability to identify product and solution opportunities for internal and external use cases and define problem statements. Must have experience and skills in process design with the ability to define a new process from scratch.
Lead the product team through activities to validate a product's desirability, feasibility, and viability. Articulating the vision of the product and creating a product roadmap.
Responsible for defining, prioritising, planning, and driving the execution of the product vision. "Owning" the product experience and feature set, acting as the product evangelist to build awareness with internal and external stakeholders.
Gathering, analysing, and prioritising features based on feedback from the end users and customers, the operating units, sales, and the general market. Creating and managing product strategies, roadmaps, project plans and product specifications. Driving product release launches and helping to drive the commercialisation of the products.
Creating detailed product requirements, specifications, business rules, UI/UX wireframe for various user cases with a help of others. Scheduling feature releases, coordinating closely with development teams on both new features as well as architectural improvements.
Qualifications
Preferably user experience and user interface design for digital product development, ideally within the B2B and engineering domains. Experience in product management and product development, ideally within the B2B, engineering space and digital solution development.
Experience working with range of stakeholders in the product development process. Excellent knowledge of SCRUM/ Agile/ lean start-up methodologies. Experience of working in a corporate incubation environment would be desirable. Takes responsibility to act as coach and demonstrate best practice for other product managers. Strong time management skills with a capacity to prioritise, manage and communicate workload effectively.
Able to work independently, as well as collaboratively with other members of the Digital Advisory Team as well as the wider Jacobs organisation across multiple disciplines, providing inputs to tender bids and marketing to external and internal clients. Possesses strong interpersonal skills and applies and continually develops these in performing the role. As a member of the Digital Solutions group, they are expected to present a professional image.
