They should be comfortable with Java, AngularJS, Node JS, CSS and HTML development, extending commerce platform extensions and components, and working closely with our DevOps and Quality Assurance team to ensure delivery of key business initiatives and projects in a timely manner. They will beproviding technical impact analysis, scoping and estimations for eCommerce related features and tools. What you'll be doing: Design, Development and Maintenance Work for eCommerce Website Functionalities Writes reliable and stable backend codes with unit testing and code review 80% of the time. Provides scoping and estimation on projects and tasks. Creates proper documentation and integration guide as a systems manual. Involved in coding, unit testing and improving processes for our development team in order to gain efficiency by writing reliable and stable code base Assists in the management, maintenance, and on-going support for existing eCommerce websites. Handles or assist in Production Deployment activities, including creation of release notes and plan in relation to deployment. Assists cross-functional teams in relation to testing, deployment, coordination, informationsharing, and environment preparation for tasks. Performs troubleshooting and other support related activities for our existing eCommerce websites. Ensure Delivery of Key Business Initiatives and Projects Using Agile Framework Work with the development team, external partners, and cross-functional teams during project planning, scoping, prioritization, and development. Takes part or leads problem-solving or brainstorming activities related to issues, tasks, plans, and experiments. Leads or contributes to competence improvement and growth plans of the team and the system. Unblocks the team or business on technical challenges by providing alternatives and solutions. Coordinates and communicates actively risks, priorities, and assignment of tasks for timely completion of deliverables. Mentors and trains junior backend developers. Provide Technical Impact Analysis, Scoping and Estimations for eCommerce-related Features and Tools Provide technical impact analysis for platform maintenance, customizations, and other back-end technologies 10% of the time. Participate in building and improving process to gain efficiency. Attends the Spring Grooming and Planning to contribute for the research and estimation of efforts for the task and/or requirements. Updates Jira board on the latest status and progress of tickets being handled. Attends and participate on the Sprint Daily Stand up and Sprint Retrospective. Performs Other Duties that May be Assigned from Time to Time What we're looking for: BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field preferred. Strong working knowledge of Java and Spring Framework required. Strong working knowledge of SAP Commerce required. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in eCommerce software development domain. Strong working knowledge building websites on Headless Architecture and API-driven development. Strong problem solving and communication skills. Location: Our corporate offices are based in Northern California with a Regional Operating Headquarters (ROHQ) in the Philippines. Company executives visit the Philippines regularly, so team members attend in-person meetings from time to time. The Senior Backend Engineerposition is a remote working position for Balsam International Unlimited Philippine ROHQ in Manila. Team members in the Philippines are located within Metro Manila, Bataan, Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Pampanga, Rizal, and Tarlac areas only. Our must-haves: Must be willing to attend occasional in-person meetings depending on the status of the pandemic. For 2022, all in-person gatherings in Balsam are suspended until further notice. The safety of our team members is of utmost importance. Must have a back-up laptop or desktop for use if primary laptop encounters issues. Must have a fast, reliable DSL, Fiber, or Broadband connection (not mobile or broadband stick) as the primary internet connection with a minimum actual speed of 10MBPS . Must have a back-up internet connection of the same speed, if primary connection becomes spotty. Note: An online assessment will also be part of the recruitment process.
