SUMMARY
Provides sales support to sales team. Maintains up to date market research of target markets/sectors. Supports the RFP and sales teams to gather accurate information from the business and reviews RFP responses to ensure it is customized to prospects needs. Produces sales reports on a regular and ad hoc basis. Uses specific knowledge of a discipline to achieve goals through own work. Has specific knowledge or expertise typically gained through formal education or equivalent experience. Uses expertise to provide guidance to others as a project manager or consultant. Requires working knowledge and experience in own job discipline. Continues to build knowledge of the company, processes and clients. Performs a range of assignments related to job discipline. Uses prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.
MAJOR DUTIES
Maintain up to date market research of target markets/sectors
Research new markets/sectors of interest to Northern Trust
Research prospect profile and work alongside sales managers on key deals
Support the RFP and sales teams as required to gather accurate, timely and quality information from the business and reviewing drafts ensuring the RFP is customized to prospects' needs
Prepare fee models and proposals
Prepare, support and coordinate all aspects relating to sales presentations and due diligence visits such as presentation booklets, supporting sales material, briefing memos and sessions, agendas, etc.
Maintain sales/prospect database
Represent NT alongside sales team at certain conferences as appropriate
Assist sales team in the preparation and running of certain NT conferences working alongside the events managers
Produce monthly prospect and sales snapshot reports and quarterly sales insight reports
Produce regular and ad hoc sales reports as required by senior management
Analyze prospect data to assist sales team focus on target markets/prospects, differentiators and product gaps
Solves problems in straightforward situations

Utilizes Sales Best Practice tools throughout the sales process
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Knowledge of financial products and services and basic sales concepts usually obtained through related work experience or formal education is required to assist with sales process
Ability to utilize a personal computer is needed to develop sales tools
Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required to interact with clients
Requires expanded conceptual knowledge in own job discipline
Understands key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work
Explains complex information to others in straightforward situations
Good commercial acumen and ability to work with complex data sets
EXPERIENCE
5 or more years of related experience
Provides informal guidance to new team members
Understanding of the Franklin Covey Sales Best Practice or similar sales process/tools
Ideally some experience of working in a sales environment within financial services
