AECOM GBS is currently looking for Project Controls Sr. Specialist (Cost Estimator/Control) who will report to the Project Control Manager in Manila and functionally support the Project Control Department. The job incumbent main responsibility is to prepare estimates for buildings, roads, and other infrastructure projects. Must be able to calculate the total cost of building, a bridge, water infrastructure or roads. Must be familiar with CESMM method of measurement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyse blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates.
Able to identify method of measurement in accordance to project contract type
Familiar with codification of items to be estimated
Determine and identify cost estimation techniques and software, including industry-specific software, such as building information modelling (BIM), computer-aided design (CAD) software, BlueBeam.
Must be able to interpret drawings (IFR, IFC)
Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Prepare estimates by interfacing with project control team-Planner with regards to project schedule.
Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
Review and identify material and labour requirements
Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data
Establish and maintain tendering process, and conduct negotiations
Discuss and apply budget contingencies in estimates
Discuss and apply cost escalation if required
Recommend ways to reduce costs
Comply with project control and estimating standards
Performs routine tasks with minimal supervision
Under appropriate supervision receives and follows instruction on specific assignment, specialized tasks and possible solutions.
Assignments have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of limited number of variables.
Receives/Seeks supervision for application of more complex standard management/administrative techniques, procedures and criteria to assist Project Manager.
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or with 4-8 years of experience in construction related to bridges, roads, water projects and buildings.
