The Principal Channel Specialist will be uniquely positioned as a member of the APAC Channel Management team and will be instrumental in shaping the channel strategy and landscape for his/her respective countries of responsibility. This role will work in close coordination with the Country, Operating Unit and Functional Leaders.
A Day in Life
Distributor Management
Carry out country-level assessment and categorization of distributors to build a channel landscape view of each country
Work to ensure 100% visibility of all distributor KPIs for your country - these KPIs include Sales in, Sale out data, Inventory weeks, DSO, A/R, compliance training status, due diligence checks, etc
Identify, train & onboard distributors to submit Sales out and Inventory data
Support development & deployment of consistent tools & processes, as mandated by SEA and APAC leaders
Monitor distributor financial health in terms of capability to invest in market or to fund the growth of Medtronic growth expectation, compliance with credit terms
Go-Direct Initiatives
Identify new opportunities for go-direct strategic initiatives and communicate updates on channel changes to meet changing business needs
Keep sub-region channel transition pipeline & financial models updated
In close partnership with all stakeholders, execute on the plan to streamline the number of distributors into a select few who can become Medtronic's preferred channel partner
Oversees and manages ad hoc projects of other markets as assigned
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
Your Profile
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience with university degree, or minimum 5 years of relevant experience with an advanced degree
Broad knowledge of project management
Well-versed with basic P&L management and accounting terms
People and relationship building skills including networking skills
Good verbal communicator and presenter - Good command over English to be able to communicate with diverse teammates in SEA. Ability to communicate in the local language with the distributors is a must
Advanced Degree (MBA, PhD)
Commercial knowledge
Preferably in Medical devices, Automotive, Consumer durables or FMCG industry experience with experience of managing large volume of business and distributors
