Job Description
The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) is a key contributor to building a talent-driven organization that enables excellence in providing strong and strategic professional services to Smarter Good's portfolio of global clients. S/he supports the day-to-day operations of the People Partnership Team (PPT) and manages the administration of human resource policies, procedures, and programs of the organization. The HRBP is responsible for creating and supporting a positive experience for Smarter Good and its candidates and employees from recruitment through their engagement in the organization. S/he drives a progressive, people-focused, and forward-looking company culture, as well as employee satisfaction and engagement and business value-added outcomes.
Key Responsibility Areas
HR Management
Supports the People Partnership Director (PPD) in developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
Develops and implements data analyses, data collection systems, and other strategies to help solve business problems, including but not limited to optimizing profits, minimizing turnovers, and streamlining logistic processes
Creates reports and helps the team understand the data by using graphs, infographics, and other methods to visualize information
Maintains a competitive compensation and benefits package through proactive market research
Ensures compliance with labor regulations and other laws governing all aspects of HR management, and develops, communicates, enforces, and updates the company handbook, Smarter Guide, as and when needed
Participates in developing and documenting organizational guidelines and procedures and enforces HR policies and procedures of the organization
Implements risk management policies and protocols
Operations Management Support
Manages vendor and service provider relationships by conducting needs assessment, vetting vendors/service providers/consultants, negotiating, and renewing contracts
Oversees tracking of employee records and database, including 201 filing, attendance, benefits utilization, employee movements, and training utilization
Oversees Smarter Good's internal and external financial activities (i.e. statutory compliance, budget forecasting, cash management, and reporting)
Maintains and implements systems and controls for expenditure and cash management
Coordinates with SG's accounting team, government agencies, and other relevant parties to ensure local statutory requirements are met
Supports SG's accounting team in preparing for accounts receivable/payable, bank reconciliation, monthly closing and reporting
Oversees IT operational systems, processes, policies, and infrastructure while looking for opportunities for improvement or revision as and when needed
Anticipates and tracks IT operational and tactical risks and provides strategic solutions
Talent Management
Develops and executes a proactive and inclusive talent sourcing strategy and oversees the delivery of the end-to-end recruitment process
Supports onboarding and offboarding of employees, including coordinating or facilitating new hire orientation and conducting and synthesizing exit interviews and providing recommendations to the leadership team based on employee feedback
Works proactively with Development Managers to support data-driven performance management and ensures that employees are in the right roles and able to be successful in them
Manages mid-year and annual employee performance reviews, supports Development Managers to implement performance improvement plans as needed, and facilitates employee permanency, movement, and promotion processes based on performance
Supports PPD on workforce and succession planning as well as organizational restructuring as and when required
Manages employee relationships, including dispute mediation with conflict and grievance resolution
Desired Qualifications
At least one (1) year of full-time business or technical writing experience
A degree from a top university
Strong command of technical American English, with excellent grammatical standards and solid writing skills
Experience and/or genuine interest in international development, social entrepreneurship, and the nonprofit sector - grant proposal writing experience preferred
A flair for the creative with an analytical approach and keen attention to detail
The capability to think and work with minimal supervision, combined with the ability to work well in teams and to be open to peer-sharing, brainstorming, and feedback
