Together with the Technical Team, promote the state of the art knowledge of what works among girls and boys, and lead in developing service delivery strategies, technical assistance package, and training on adolescent and youth;
Ensure that the project activities are youth sensitive, inclusive, and focused on improved AYRH. It means reviewing and taking steps for youth engagement at the regional, provincial and municipal levels in close collaboration with public and private sector partners;
Integrate gender and implement gender- transformative adolescent-friendly activities. The specialist will be responsible for incorporating gender-related youth activities in the Gender Action Plan.
Work with Activity Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Plan (AMELP) Team to guide in developing measures and collecting data to assess the performance of adolescent and youth activities and the reach of adolescent-youth friendly services;
Based on evidence and information, provide guidance to the technical team on how to reposition and scale the reach of the project's FP-MCH-ARH activities;
Support to quality improvement objectives in scaling up FP-MCH-ARH integration in the hospital.
Lead in reviewing / enhancing / developing technical assistance package and training materials including job aids, checklists, standard guidelines, training materials, and videos in close collaboration with the MOH-BARMM, provinces, cities, and municipalities;
Lead the training and capacity building activities related to adolescent reproductive health at the regional and provincial levels together with the provincial teams;
Fast-track social change for adolescent girls and boys by engaging the MOH-BARMM, provinces/cities, and municipalities to improve their capacity in addressing the needs of the adolescent and youth; and
Other tasks as may be required.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
Collegiate and/or advanced degree in public health, sociology, or another related field;
Minimum of 5 years of working experience in the field of gender and youth and FP;
Substantial knowledge and previous working experience with USAID's Gender Equality and Female Empowerment Policy;
Previous experience in the BARMM preferable;
Strong previous leadership experience preferred; and
Excellent written and spoken English and local languages skills.
