Our client runs a Freight Management/Broking company located in Hawthorn Victoria Australia and is made up of a small team of dedicated transport professionals. The primary business is that of a freight broker, which basically involves acting as a wholesaler of domestic transport services to our clients. We aggregate freight volumes and manage the outward-bound domestic freight and logistic requirements of our clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Booking Pickups online for customers
Creating Consignment Notes / Labels / Manifest online, and emailing to customers
Capturing Pickup information and updating our in house freight management system "FMS"
Emailing correspondence and reports to sales/customers and suppliers
Data processing, keypunching, uploading of data into our inhouse system
Possible calling clients & answering phone enquiries
Working with spreadsheets
Reconciling of supplier invoices, balancing and preparing entry into our account payable systems
Following up credit request made of suppliers, and the maintaining of inhouse registers
Following up customer service details daily, checking tracking info, proof of delivery, etc
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager
Requirements
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Experience in the Freight and Logistics industry
Experience in Accounts Payable
Strong Excel skills - must have a great understanding of VLOOKUPs, creating PIVOT Tables, etc
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
