Seeking a diligent and experienced individual to join a prominent Australia-based organization as a Finance Manager. The company is a leader in the graduate employability space, dedicated to empowering tertiary students and graduates to pursue their chosen careers.
The Finance Manager's role encompasses a blend of financial management and administrative compliance responsibilities, ensuring the seamless operation of the organization's financial processes while maintaining adherence to regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
Record Financial Transaction, Enter and categorize financial transactions into accounting software, particularly Xero. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Balance Sheet reconciliations and preparation of financial statements (monthly)
Management of all payment facilities (Stripe, PayPal, PaypaPlane)
Administrative and Compliance tasks related to student enrolments (including Invoicing, payment plan setup, management of documentation)
Reconcile bank statements with the Xero general ledger to identify discrepancies.
Accounts Payable: Process and record invoices in Xero.
Manage payment schedules and ensure timely payments while maintaining good relationships with vendors.
Accounts Receivable: Generate and send customer invoices using Xero.
Track and follow up on outstanding customer payments, recording transactions accurately.
Payroll Processing: Assist in calculating and processing employee payroll in compliance with Xero features. Ensure accurate deductions for taxes, benefits, and other withholdings.
Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) using Xero.
Stay informed about changes in tax regulations affecting BAS.
Prepare financial information for tax filings, collaborating with tax
professionals. Ensure compliance with tax regulations.
Maintain organized and secure financial records for auditing purposes. Ensure compliance with record-keeping regulations.
Stay updated on accounting software and technology, especially Xero. Utilize Xero features to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients, regarding financial matters.
Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Senior Bookkeeper or General Accountant, with a minimum of 3 years or more in a similar role.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
Relevant professional certifications such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) are highly desirable.
Xero certification and familiarity with other accounting software is a plus.
Proficient in using accounting software, particularly Xero, and Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
Expertise in BAS preparation and a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Solid knowledge of payroll processing and tax laws
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen attention to detail in data entry.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to adapt to new technologies and utilize accounting software features for enhanced efficiency and accuracy.
Capacity to manage and maintain organized, secure financial records for auditing purposes.
Demonstrated commitment to professional development and a passion for contributing to the success of the finance and accounting function within the organization.
