The applications of these terminologie JOB DESCRIPTION Brief Description Responsible in helping the team deliver good quality ontologies or terminologies in the fields of diseases or disease coding, genes, proteins, chemicals and/or drugs/medicines. The applications of these terminologies are diverse in Life Sciences and Healthcare domains thus, with increasing number of projects and consulting engagements to deliver within tight deadlines, should maintain good quality terminologies or supporting consulting work. Role and Responsibilities Ontology/terminology bio curation in the fields of diseases/disease coding, genes/proteins, chemicals and/or drugs/medicines Help extend and develop domain specific terminologies Build and maintain resources to assist our customers in using I2E, especially in life science and healthcare applications Participate in consulting engagements with customers to provide solutions Develop text mining strategies for use cases in life sciences and healthcare Deliver high-quality solutions on-time Qualifications and Education Requirements Degree, postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in a biological science or bioinformatics, with a particular interest/experience in data curationPREFFERED SKILLS Academic or commercial experience in biology, genomics, bioinformatics, ontologies, or related area Knowledge of text mining and/or enterprise search and life science information resources, such as PubMed, EHR, Entrez, etc. Knowledge of structured data and ontologies Ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining quality and attention to detail A pro-active attitude with good communication and team-working skills Knowledge of programming Python Familiarity with the software life cycle and commercial development Good verbal and listening skills. Demonstrate strong understanding of complex concepts and processes Has initiative and is self-motivated to see through until resolution concerns raised by clients. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be a team player and able to work under time constraint
