Background
As the Workplace Design & Experience / Project Management Lead for APAC, you will support transformation projects across the Unilever portfolio covering this region. Managing projects, involved in all stages of the project life cycle from discovery through to delivery and post-occupancy evaluation. As a trusted advisor, working closely with the Global WD&E / PM (Project Manager) Leads, Real Estate and Service Delivery teams including other partners both internally and externally.
Alongside project governance and strategic briefing, you will be responsible for the deployment of Unilever's workplace design standards that cover a holistic experience for our employees, and drive Unilever objectives including; diversity and inclusion, sustainability, health and safety, security, wellbeing, technology, furniture, fixtures and equipment, branding, along with many others.
Main purpose of the job

The role is the interface between local projects and the global strategic vision for our future workplaces, that you will support as part of day-to-day responsibilities.
A typical week might include leading a project kick-off session, mobilising a space utilisation study, deploying the employee experience and workplace performance survey, building a space calculator, reviewing proposed designs from the architect, presenting a workplace strategic brief and or overseeing a building handover.
You will be working on multiple projects within the APAC and must be able to balance thoughtful and thorough design strategy with speed and agility. An eye for detail is needed with rigor in data calculations and synthesis. The ability to listen carefully and negotiate various requirements with honest and regular communication is key to this role, as is the importance in being able to adapt to change as added information becomes available. As part of the WD&E & PM team you will be a workplace ambassador driving strategic initiatives and collaborating with other areas of the business including end-users.
A successful WD&E / PM Lead will ideally have a background in either; architecture / design, workplace strategy or project management
Key Accountabilities :
Developing workplace strategic briefs for projects.
Producing block and stack, and test fit layouts when required.
Mobilising utilisation studies and workplace performance surveys.
Facilitating workshops and post-occupancy evaluations.
Collecting and maintaining project benchmarking data.
Building Capex budgets to support business cases.
Building up high-level project timeline.
Providing necessary data and information to real estate team to complete a compelling a business case.
Defining procurement strategy for the project.
Conducting RFP (Request for Proposals) for project contractors and consultants.
Establishing project governance and facilitating project working group meetings.
Identifying project's critical path and developing risk management activities.
Managing stakeholders.
Ensuring there is necessary support from business functions including IT, HR, Finance and Procurement.
Managing project close-out activities and ensuring hand-over documents are complete and in place.
Assisting in conducting technical due diligences.
Skills
Strong interest in design / architecture, and an ardent desire to understand the future of workplaces.
The ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
Strong organizational skills
Fluent spoken and written English essential. Or other regionally relevant languages would be an advantage.
Storyteller who is confident with leading presentations and landing a narrative.
Visualiser that can communicate complex ideas in an engaging, clear, and impactful way.
Ability to read construction/floor plans & understand dimensioning a site.
Agile advocate who has embraced agile project delivery and agile working.
Knowledgeable in workplace design, planning, and people's behaviours.
Skilled in wielding MicroSoft suite, InDesign, Illustrator, AutoCAD.
Experience
5-7 years' experience in design / workplace or project management services is essential.
