EastWest is looking for a Trust Accounting Officer to work onsite in our Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig site.
About the role:
Job Purpose: To ensure and validate the (1) accurate and efficient recording of trust transactions/ entries generated by the Trust System and entries prepared manually, (2) accurate and timely submission of reports to trustors, EW Business Units, Management, industry association/s and government regulatory agencies, (3) ensure compliance to existing rules and regulations governing the trust business and generally accepted accounting principles, and (4) assist the Accounting Team Head in managing the team and provide supervision for the accounting assistant and document assistant.
Ensures all business transactions are accurate, timely, and complete in the trust system vis-à-vis transaction documents.
Responsible for reviewing the accuracy of billing for the trust fee, custodianship fee, and other applicable expenses to clients.
Responsible for reviewing and approving simple to moderate BAU functions.
Examples:
Ensures the accuracy and completeness of system and manual entries in the trust system, including income and expense accruals which will in turn produce accurate financial reporting to the clients.
Ensures the accuracy and completeness of input trades in the trust system vis-à-vis transaction documents provided to ensure that all trades are properly recorded in the trust system.
Ensures the accuracy of daily encoded mark-to-market prices in the UITF system and the month-end IMATOFA system.
Reviews end-of-day transactions to ensure no abnormal balances.
Reviews the computation of net final proceeds for accounts for termination and endorses the same to the approving officer.
Act as OIC if the accounting head is absent and will serve as the successor as part of succession planning.
Prepares error-free financial reports.
Responsible for reviewing monthly/quarterly financial statements for IMATOFA accounts to ensure execution of the trustee/agent responsibility in the Trust/IMA Agreement and compliance with the BSP requirement.
Assist in the preparation of management reports on the performance of the Trust Division and MIS reports related to fund level and profitability that will be useful for decision-making.
Calculates the Reserve Requirement on TOFA-Other accounts in compliance with the BSP regulations and prepares the required weekly reports.
Responsible for the preparation of quarterly regulatory reports (CREDEX, REE, FRPTI, etc.) in compliance with the BSP requirement.
Responsible for reviewing the accuracy and completeness of filing and remittances of monthly and quarterly returns to BIR.
Ensure monthly reconciliation with Finance on the balances for trust income accrual, receivables, and Contingent accounts recorded in FinStudio to confirm that balances reflected in the bank's record are accurate and complete. Any noted discrepancies shall be raised in a timely manner to correct the balances.
Bachelor's Degree, preferably a business course
Equivalent experience in the banking industry is required
