Your Role and Responsibilities
Specializes in testing application at the data level. Focuses on testing for ETL, Big Data and data intensive applications like BAO, MDM and data migrations. Performs tasks to understand business requirements, design optimized test scenarios, plan the testing activities, estimate work efforts, create test cases, identify test environment and test data requirements, identify dependencies on external and internal applications, execute test cases using manual and automation solutions, report test status, perform defect creation, triage and resolution and analyze the test outcome for continuous improvements using analytical and cognitive techniques and tools. Has deep skills in core testing, technical testing related to data, data handling techniques/tools and business domain/processes to meaningfully understand data. Has good skills in using different testing tools, simulation/virtualization solutions, BDD/TDD and modelling approach of testing, test accelerators and methods to bring quality and efficiency in test delivery. Has skills to identify, create and manage test data required for different type and level of testing. Skills include data analysis, data manipulation, data creation, data masking and data mining. Works closely with the Test Manager/Test Lead starting from the planning stages of an engagement to analyze and define Test Data Strategy and Test Data Requirements of the project, during pre-execution works with Database Administrators and Data owners to prepare the required test data. At the test execution phase this role supports testing by addressing data related defects, providing any potential new data required as a result of changes and performing data maintenance activities as project moves through various levels of testing.
