This role is responsible for building reliable, end-to-end marketing and sales systems within GoHighLevel, including the design, implementation, and rigorous testing of workflows, custom fields, calendars, pipelines, forms, and funnel pages. The Systems Architect will also be responsible for creating clean and stable integrations with other key tools via Zapier. This position is critical for transforming campaign ideas into working, tested systems that maintain high performance and reliability under load.Reporting Structure

Key Responsibilities and OwnershipGoHighLevel System Builds
Design, build, and maintain all core GHL technology setups, including sophisticated workflows, triggers, conditions, logic steps, wait steps, calendars, and pipelines.
Ensure all system components are configured for optimal performance and scalability.
Data Model & Hygiene
Establish and enforce strict data hygiene protocols, including managing tags, custom fields/values, and implementing clear naming conventions and rules.
Develop and execute strategies for contact deduplication and reliable status control across all stages of the customer journey.
Deliverability & Authentication
Manage and configure email deliverability components, including domain setup, DNS records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and A2P registration.
Implement robust opt-in/opt-out logic and develop clear processes for handling bounces and maintaining sender reputation.
Funnel Page Development
Build high-performing funnel pages directly within GoHighLevel, prioritizing fast loading times and mobile-first design.
Ensure proper configuration of forms, field mapping, accurate UTM tracking, and variants for thank-you pages.
System Bridges & Integrations
Develop and maintain reliable data bridges between GoHighLevel and external platforms (e.g., Stripe/Checkout, EasyWebinar, ManyChat, Circle, Sheets/Docs) primarily using Zapier.
Quality Assurance (QA) & Reliability
Conduct thorough testing of all workflows and systems using defined test cases and plans.
Implement version control using GHL snapshots, maintain detailed change logs, and establish rollback procedures for quick remediation.
Produce a simple, weekly reliability note summarizing system health.
Incident Management
Act as the primary responder for system incidents, quickly investigating, diagnosing, and fixing issues.
Perform root cause analysis and implement safeguards to prevent recurring problems.
Collaboration and Accountability
The Systems Architect is responsible for the complete build and proving its functionality through rigorous internal testing.
Will collaborate with the Marketing Director, who provides the core campaign flow, operational rules, and acceptance criteria, and provides final sign-off before system launch.
Outcomes and Performance StandardsSuccess in this role is measured by:
Clean Launches: Systems go live without bugs, ensuring all statuses, tags, and custom fields are correctly applied.
Accurate Automation: Automations function flawlessly based on complex logic, including watch time, attendance status, timezone, and consent.
Reliability: A measurable reduction in system incidents over time; when incidents occur, they are found and resolved quickly, with preventative measures immediately implemented.
Data Integrity: Maintenance of a clean database with no duplicate contacts and reliable data for accurate reporting.
Ways of WorkingThe Systems Architect will adhere to the following simple operational rules:
Maintain clear naming conventions and organized folder structures within GoHighLevel.
Utilize snapshots/versioning before deploying changes and maintain an up-to-date change log afterward.
Employ checklists for both system launches and hotfixes to ensure comprehensive coverage.
Submit a short weekly status note detailing what was shipped, issues found/fixed, and any identified risks for the coming week.
Desired Skills and ExperienceRequired
2+ years of proven, deep expertise in all technical aspects of the GoHighLevel platform.
Extensive experience designing and implementing complex, multi-step marketing and sales automations/workflows.
Strong understanding of data modeling, hygiene, and data flow across integrated systems.
Proficiency in setting up and troubleshooting email deliverability standards (DNS records, authentication).
Expertise in setting up and managing complex Zapier integrations, including parsing and mapping payloads.
