Overall purpose, duties and responsibilities of the role:
The Tax Compliance and Reporting Senior Manager will be responsible for ensuring the Company's adherence to tax regulations, overseeing tax reporting, managing compliance and tax audit activities, and providing leadership to a small team. Specific responsibilities shall include the following:
Oversee and manage all aspects of tax compliance and reporting for the Company, including local tax filing and audits, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Develop, implement, and maintain tax policies, procedures, and controls to ensure Company's compliance with changing tax laws and regulations.
Coordinate with external auditors and tax authorities, responding to inquiries and resolving any tax-related issues.
Prepare and review tax returns, reports, and documentation to identify and address potential compliance issues or optimization opportunities.
Analyze financial data to assess the impact of tax planning strategies and provide recommendations for minimizing tax liabilities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and accounting, to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisions and transactions.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, communicating implications to relevant stakeholders within the Company.
Prepare and present tax-related reports to management and stakeholders.
Provide insights and support concerning tax matters in relation to business acquisition activities
Lead and mentor a small team of professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
Preferably, a degree in Law or Taxation.
5+ years of progressive experience in tax compliance and reporting, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role. Experience with taxation and audits of insurance companies is a plus.
Strong knowledge of local tax regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply complex tax laws.
Experience managing a team, with excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems and tax software is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
