Brief Position Description:
The Tax Accountant role is responsible for Tax and related affairs across the NHH Group.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelors in Accounting or Business/Commerce degree.
Chartered Accountancy or Certified Practicing Accounting holder preferred.
2-3 years of prior work experience in Taxation.
2+ years of commercial work experience preferred.
Good attention to detail and Organised and structured.
Good communicator and is good at maintaining rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Taxation
Maintaining taxation reporting responsibilities.
Ensuring all tax reporting deadlines per local entities are managed.
Ability to refer to and interpret the income tax legislation across various jurisdictions the Group operates within.
Ability to research foreign tax legislation.
Perform monthly and quarterly Tax Provision Calculation.
Monthly and quarterly taxation preparation and filing for the Group and Subsidiaries
Accounting
Has a strong understanding of the Trial Balance of the Group and its subsidiaries.
Understands accounting concepts under IFRS and key timing differences impacting general ledger accounts between accounting vs Tax.
Understands and prepares tax effect accounting through the Tax Software of the Group and related excel based models.
Has a good understanding of Deferred Tax Balances and roll forward of these balances.
Preparation of tax notes for Financial Statements for Group consolidation under IFRS and SFRS (Singapore) standards.
Compliance
Assists the Tax Manager with the maintenance of the Tax Operating Manual and Tax Governance of the Group.
Working directly Legal team, Quality and Compliance as required to close out Tax and compliance related matters.
Assisting in setting up new business entities set ups for the group from a tax perspective as required.
Assists with corporate reporting responsibilities in collaboration with local advisers as required for all entities of the Group.
Ensuring all required board resolutions are appropriately executed and filed for all Tax and compliance related matters.
Ensuring all company fees are paid on time to company regulators as per local law requirements.
Updating business details for government entities as needed.
