Location/Division Specific Information
Implements strategies set by tax management to minimize the company's overall tax liability. Analyzes and compiles data for quarterly and annual tax provision processes and participates in compliance initiatives.
A day in the Life:
Prepares provision related processes, schedules, journal entries and footnote disclosures.
Works with the Company's external auditors to resolve provision related issues.
Reviews income tax returns to ensure accurate information is provided to federal, state, and PH taxing jurisdictions.
May assist with preparation of more complex state returns (unitary filings).
Assists with conducting state tax audits of the Company's income/franchise taxes, property taxes and sales/use taxes.
Assists with coordination of data and automation required for the Company's quarterly and annual income tax provision.
Communicates within the Finance function and with other departments to gather and analyze any information needed to complete tax planning projects.
May perform tax research and gather information as needed to affect tax planning strategies.
Keys to Success:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or related courses
Experience
At least 3 years of tax accounting experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job
CPA is good to have
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Good Knowledge of tax preparation software, tax research tools, Microsoft office applications, and basic understanding of general ledger packages
Self-starter with good verbal and written communication skills
Good knowledge of accounting principals and tax practices
Strong analytical skills
Ability to pay close attention to detail and multitask
Ability to function as an effective and respected partner to internal clients'
Proven ability to handle data effectively
Possess the maturity to handle sensitive information and make sound recommendations
Ability to juggle multiple tasks while still delivering high quality results
Must be amenable to work on hybrid work setup (office location: BGC)
