Job Description
Role Purpose: Prepare the Annual accounts, BAS, Tax returns incorporating other various other accounting work for small to medium sized Australian businesses or entities from a diverse range of industries.
Depending on expertise: other administration tasks relating to the ATO, ASIC administration, ATO statements. Work closely with a portfolio of entities allocated to you and prepared in conjunction with a Senior Manager of the Practice.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Initial Client Engagement - To proactively contact and engage client to initiate the preparation of the tax return. This includes:
·Collating feedback or response from client and schedule the workflow for future engagement
·Correspondence via email.
-Responding to client requests for the preparation of tax returns in a timely manner following the business processes
2: Request for Information - To proactively send out requests for information and collate responses from clients, and plan and schedule the workflow for future month, quarter and annual engagements.
Respond to client queries and requests in a timely manner.
3. Review the response and prepare the drafts for monthly PAYG. Quarterly BAS or Annual Year End Tax Returns. Request further information and work closely with the Practice Manager and organize zoom meetings as required. Other tasks include: confirming that bookkeeping is up to date, reviewing bank reconciliations, running P& L reports and scan for issues, run GST summary reports, confirm STP lodgements are made, action any superannuation payable,
4. Finalise the work required ready for review and presentation to the client. This may involve reviewing the work, drafting emails and be present in zoom meetings together with the Practice Manager or Client Manager. For Year end accounts, reconcile lodged BAS's to accounts, run bank reconciliations, enter depreciations, and loop back any issues with Manager
5. Client and Job Follow Up : Ensure that all work has been signed off and no actions or changes are required on work sent to clients, including ensuring all workpapers and relevant emails and notes are properly documented and saved on the server.
1. Experience and Qualifications
Desirable:
· CPA qualifications
· 5 years + Australian Tax experience for small business
· Practice Manager experience.
· Leadership skills and ability to build rapport with clients
· Xero Accounting, QuickBooks online MYOB AccountRight
Essential:
Job Specializations : Finance - Audit/Taxation
CPA or near completion
Min 2 years Australian Tax experience, with experience in preparing year end accounts, BAS and PAYG withholding
Excellent written and verbal English skills
