Job Summary
As an Infrastructure Support Engineer, you will work in a team to partake in incident, problem and change management activities for our Capital Markets Lines of Business. You will interact with customers, both internal and external, on a regular basis. You will be expected to manage your own time and communicate effectively with your manager as well as other team members. You will also be involved in root cause analysis procedures and documentation. Infrastructure Support Engineers are an integral part of the Capital Markets Solution. We are looking for technically minded candidates who can handle novel situations and issues while communicating/coordinating with customers and other teams.
The ideal candidate should have a solid technical/IT background, be willing to learn a wide range of products and technologies, have an aptitude for troubleshooting/analyzing problems and be able to work with customers to solve their issues. You will be constantly challenged with a significant range of tasks and gain experience working in multiple areas of technology.
This is a challenging and rewarding role that constantly presents new opportunities for learning a variety of technologies and products with opportunities to move into a range of other technical specialty positions within the group.
What you will be doing
Receiving and analyzing technical issues from lines of business.
Finding and applying solutions to correct issues.
Recognizing and escalating critical issues according to policy.
Periodically providing on-call remote weekend support across both Saturday and Sunday.
Install patches/configuration changes for products
Managing your own workload and tasks to ensure appropriate prioritization and timely completion
Learning new products and technologies as they are introduced into our systems
What you bring
Preferred experience with VMWare
Preferred experience with Netscaler vPX
Preferred experience with Windows server 2012/2016
Preferred experience with HP Blades, ILOS and iDRAC
Preferred experience in SFTP/FTP
Normal Business Hour responsibilities, with the possibility of rotating off hours on-call support duties.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desire to work in a team-based environment
Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Server OS
VMWare ESX/VSphere knowledge
TCP/IP based networking experience
SAN or Storage technology experience
Citrix XenApp, Access Gateway, NetScaler knowledge
Simple Scripting knowledge
