Position Summary:
Responsible for working independently with team members to resolve technical issues identified in the steady state functioning and performance of an application. This includes error detection, problem resolution and tracking.
Oversee production incidents for assigned software systems/products. Prioritize, assign, and track all incidents through closure in a timely manner per Ingram Micro's SLA policy. Coordinate escalation and resolution with business and IT teams. Participate and lead bridge calls for all critical/high severity incidents.
What You Bring To The Role:
Provides leadership for design and development considerations, guidance, and knowledge.
Provides technical leadership to a virtual team, comprised of members from all over the world
Successfully works independently from remote manager and manages day to day activities of a small team.
Works directly with local end users on activities requiring their participation such as planning, requirements definition, and testing.
Updates progress status of incident tickets from assignment through closure of incident.
Participates on bridge calls for high/critical level incidents.
Documents PBI's (Problem Incident) as needed.
Documents SIR's (Significant Incident Reviews) for high and critical incidents.
Provide on-call support for resolving high/critical incidents
Able to independently do all deployments (minor and major releases)
Job Qualifications and Education Requirement:
A Bachelor's Degree with an IT emphasis is required.
Minimum of 12 years' experience needed in programming using the languages pertinent to the position.
Knowledge/experience with COBOL, CICS, JCL, IMS, DB2 and Oracle Database programming language.
Good to have experience with Microsoft C/C++, ANSI C, Cobol and Linux/Unix Operating systems.
Familiarity of tools used in the above programing languages is required.
Ability/desire to analyze business problems and requests from one or more sources to formulate solutions of moderate to significant complexity.
Knowledge of State-of-the-art computer hardware and software. Technology concepts of on-line interactive systems, database designs, and/or client/server environments.
Skill in Systems developments, implementation in on-line interactive systems. Understanding new technology and applications of same.
Communicates effectively by expressing technical concepts and information well both orally and in writing. Prepares formal technology evaluations and proposals.
Possesses the verbal and written communication skills to successfully supervise a team of application developers.
Accepts individual/team responsibilities and meets commitments. Takes responsibility for own performance and actions.
Creative in delivering values to systems solutions and customer/user requests. Anticipates and accepts change by capitalizing on opportunities that arise.
Ability to work on rotational schedules and on-call.
