Sr. Finance Specialist
Responsible for the application of the principles of accounting (both tax and financial) to analyse and validate financial information as well as prepare financial and management reports. And for day-to-day operation of the general ledger assigned to the Manila UK Online operations including the review and posting of all journal entries input into the financial management system by Manila Finance team and other UK Online departmental users and providing excellent service while responding to inquiries related to the assigned transactions and procedures.

The Senior Finance Specialist is expected to collaborate with UK Finance team but not limited to the FP&A, Group Treasury, Group Tax and various subsidiaries in relation with the finance related requirements. The position will also review and recommend new methods and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. General Accounting and period-end closing
Percent of time spent in this area: 20%
Analyze, validate and compare period end balances before closing
Collaborate with teams to ensure accruals, prepayments and adjustments are booked before closing
Oversee and ensure accuracy, timeliness, completeness and appropriateness of approvals for executed transactions
Monitor and reconcile intercompany accounts by period end with corresponding affiliates
Close coordination with the Center of Excellence group to ensure delivery of period end closing and reports
2. Account Analysis and Issue Resolution
Percent of time spent in this area: 30%
Review and prepare a comprehensive FS and/or management reporting package and schedules to be submitted on a timely basis
Identify outstanding balances and issues and coordinate with the stakeholders for issue resolution
Critical analysis of the impact of outstanding balances and transactions to the overall financial statement
Work with internal Business Partners to provide support and analyses to address their accounting related concerns
Lead and organize an accounts review committee
Close monitoring with account owners on the outstanding issues over the balances
3. Financial Statement preparation and audit management
Percent of time spent in this area: 20%
Preparation and coordination with responsible teams to submit the documents required by the internal and external audit
Preparation of the financial statement or reports as required by the auditors or management
Communicate to the management any audit concerns or issues and timely resolution thereof
Ensure that the financial statement treatment are in accordance with the IFRS/IAS
4. Tax compliance and monitoring
Percent of time spent in this area: 20%
Monitor regulatory compliance of assigned companies in collaboration with the Group Tax
Handle filings of licenses, fees and taxes as required
5. Project base and adhoc activities
Percent of time spent in this area: 10%
Pro-active participation in any finance transformation projects
Process documentation of accounting processes that affects the overall financial statement
Support the Manila UK Onlinne team on assigned activities that will require his/her expertise
Provide training or share expertise with team members that will require learnings
Skills needed:
Must be a CPA with 3 years + experience in the preparation, audit and review of financial statements and management information reports (Internal Hire)
4 years + in the preparation, audit and review of financial statements and management information reports or experience in audit firm is an advantage
2 year + in Supervisory or Managerial role overseeing accounting operations
Preparation of financial statements and management information reports
Project management experience in consolidation and system/process migration/improvements
Exposure to international gaming regulatory requirements
Knowledgeable in using JDE, Service Now, Oracle or other accounting softwares
Proficient in MS Office application (e.g Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
With excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Flexibility to work in different shifts and to work onsite as needed
