Description:
Ensuring that all materials, substances and goods handled at BI were classified according to local and international regulations related to chemicals and dangerous goods.
Maintenance, generation, and internal publication of Safety Data Sheets to inform employees about the hazards of substances or mixtures, and provide advice on safety precautions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide First level support for the main processes:
The first point of contact for incoming inquiries (e.g., SDS, material release, etc.).
Ensure that inquiries, which were not covered by First level support, were forwarded to the Second level support.
Assess newly created/updated materials in SAP if chemically/pharmaceutically relevant or not.
Management of incoming supplier Safety Data Sheets and material form sheets, and other process related supporting documents.
GBS-MDM/IBIS material workflow
EHS check and determine EHS classification data for materials (e.g., spare parts, finished products, raw materials, intermediates, etc.).
Assign correct dangerous goods profile and environmentally relevant profile according to documented GBS-MDM/IBIS material workflow process.
Clarify and close incomplete EHS datasets about material information, or if necessary, activate rework button to material request sender.
Ensure that requests with known query have been logged in its' designated tracker. Reason for inquiry and the responders comments has to be clearly and completely documented as well.
Provide a list of completed workflow tasks to Second Level support for final review (4-Eye principle/two person rule/Quality check) by COB.
Supplier Safety Data Sheet (SDS) management
Apply Supplier SDS management process for each requested region or country (according to process description).
Check that Supplier SDS data is consistent with what was maintained in the PURE_SUB and/or REAL_SUB information in the SAP EHS database, in accordance to the process document of Supplier SDS.
Reclaim inconsistent SDS data (according to the plausibility check list, local and international regulations related to chemicals and dangerous goods), then request for revision from the supplier.
Transfer and/or update the EHS Database according to the information on the Supplier SDS, then attach it to the REAL_SUB.
Continuous process improvement
It is expected that the EHS Specialist's level of understanding of work activities shall continuously grow, and he/she will handle Second Level support tasks in the future.
Provide support to projects and continuously develop initiatives to improve current processes.
Others:
Ensure that hand-over of processes, from stakeholder to GBS Manila, have been completed, and implementations were executed successfully. Ensure the successful go-live of implemented processes.
Requirements:
Professional Training / Master or Bachelor with scientific, technical or ITbackground (chemical and/or technical background is helpful)
Basic knowledge of BI's product portfolio
Basic knowledge in applying international safety and transport regulations
Experience in GBS Material Data Management
Team player with a result-driven and thorough working style
Excellent communication skills in English
Basic technical qualification in Safety Data Sheet authoring is a plus
