SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR/COST / CONTRACT ASSISTANT MANAGER
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze project requirements and prepare budget estimations
Monitor and track project costs to ensure they align with the project budget
Identify and report any potential cost overruns in a timely manner
Develop and implement cost-saving measures to maximize project profitability
Collaborate with project managers and other team members to optimize resource allocation
Evaluate and compare supplier and vendor contracts, bids, and proposals to ensure the most cost-effective options are selected
Administers budget variance tracking for the project
Review new project budget and cost codes against estimates
Review all monthly Project Status Reports with the Operations Manager prior to issuing to Corporate Office
Review project Cashflow reports with each project team
Assists with the development and management of the cost control systems to provide project and company management with accurate financial information
Carry out bid analysis for complex service contracts
Execute audits of invoices
Setting up cost control Procedures
Setting up Budgets & implementation of Cost Control Tools
Estimation of Total Forecasts and Expected Outcomes
Assisting Project Managers in Optimizing and improving budgeted projects
Act as a project point of contact for internal and external audits of all cost control functions by providing full assistance to the auditors
Coordinate and monitor cost engineering activities and assisting in implementing required resources and systems to ensure availability of timely, accurate cost information and forecasts
Develop turnaround estimates, turnaround and project cost forecasts, and preparation of turnaround and project cost reports
Manage audits of invoices
Develop and support of contracting strategy for large capital projects efforts
Develop Earned Value Management system and performance KPI's, based on input from project leads
Assisting in preparation of monthly progress claim, by providing records of actual work carried out on site for each activity
Implement standard cost, schedule and risk management programs, processes and practices to ensure Design and Construction projects are performed in accordance with approved budgets and schedules
Develop and implement cost control procedures, cost standards for materials and labor.
Prepare budget and cost estimates for business lines.
Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
Work with the finance team to complete monthly closings.
May provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance to others in the resolution of project control problems
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Developing Cost Plan, Tender Documentation, Construction Cost Supervision & Project Close Out
Minimum 4 years of experience with Cost Engineering concepts (project estimating, forecasting, tendering, cost controls and variance reporting)
Capable of managing and organizing large amounts of data and developing ad hoc reporting
Experience within strategic deployment plans and optimization/ improvements activities
