Position Summary:
The senior media planner is responsible for strategic buying and planning across all traditional media channels, to include TV, radio, print, outdoor, OTT & digital audio with an emphasis on offline and emerging channels. This person will work with agency to develop strategic media buying and planning processes consisting of developing, negotiating, executing, and monitoring media campaigns.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the development and implementation of national, regional and local traditional media campaigns
Create and maintain media documents: flowcharts, timelines, RFPs, POVs, plan agreements/contracts, and correspondence
Experience with National and local broadcast television in traditional and direct response formats, cable television, radio, Outdoor advertising, Local newspaper and magazine (offline & online)
Work with digital media team to integrate interactive objectives and strategies into overall media plan
Present recommendations, POVs and select analyses to sr. manager and leadership
Organize, implement, and control the day-to-day media planning development process
Plan traditional media campaign strategy in tandem with interactive media team
Work with media buying agency to monitor media campaigns having periodic campaign performance meetings and reporting results
Work with creative agency to provide buying specifications and develop assets
Work with media buying agency to put package on estimate and to manage evaluation process, ensuring that the buy is efficient
Assist Sr. Manager with managing invoice approval and billing
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, preferable in Marketing, Finance, or Business Administration.
3+ years media planning experience as a Junior or Mid-level Planner
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong knowledge of activating digital media campaigns (e.g. optimizations, pacing, building media plans and billing)
Ideally experience working within media and research tools, including DoubleClick DFA, Kantar, comScore, Google Analytics, and/or Omniture
Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with all levels of personnel
Demonstrates leadership skills, takes initiative, proactive and self-motivated
Friendly, team player - self-motivated; excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication; problem solving and decision-making skills required
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines
Experience in creating and optimizing private marketplace deals between buyers and sellers
