Job Description :
Purpose of the Role:
He/she is the one point of contact and business partner for the Country Director & Functions when it comes to all point financial controls related for the geography.
Strategic responsibilities include:
Setting the strategy for effective and efficient delivery of the financial controls agenda for the individual countries, continuously raising the bar
Mobilize the right resources (talent, process, systems) and execute the strategy
Decision support activities, including:
Analysis and reporting of all financial reports, seeking and passing judgment in coordination with the countries where necessary
Active, pro-active management of financial figures
Risk treatment and assurance, Financial Control Activities, including:
Coordinate for the country statutory, management account and tax agenda.
Coordinate operational accounting activities, month and quarter end closes, within Manila BSSC and in country.
Ensure the team produces monthly and quarterly management and financial reports in accordance with the agreed group timetable.
Create and maintain high quality and effective internal control area. Deliver successful internal & external (GAR, KPMG) audits. Ensure Financial Controlling / FC processes are SOX/CARM compliant.
Ensures GLOBAL Diageo policies and processes are followed
Managing in sourcing and outsourcing projects. Liaise with outsource providers. Local specifics are documented and known in order to maintain and improve the control environment effectively (local DTPs, KPIs; etc.)
Continuously monitors and improves the control environment; proposes actions in order to eliminate or prevent risks and to deliver opportunities
Provide business partnering for all key stakeholders (market finance contacts) & network with various functions within GDBS/market (Cash Cycle, Treasury, CARM) and outside DBSC (KPMG/PWC/Deloitte)
Identify opportunities for scope expansion - create possibilities
Orchestrate a major annual planning process (e.g. Annual Operating Plan - AOP, Zero Based Budgeting - ZBB) with business partners to set stretching but achievable goals
Work with business partners to understand the challenge components of forecasts; quantify risks and opportunities and help develop contingency plans
Frame the annual planning process with business partners in the context of the longer term strategic business unit goals and the external environment
Incorporate forecasts into a results-driven BPM process and work with business partners to deliver opportunities and mitigate risks
People Management:
Develop higher level understanding of the importance and the role of financial analysis and its impact at tactical and to a certain extent at strategic level
Working closely with other in-house and local finance and accounting teams (Finance, BPM, FP&R, Cash Cycle, Tax, PTP) etc...)
Enable the high quality team performance through efficient and supportive people and professional processes
Manage / coach a team of 10 - 15 people
Provide professional guidance and advice for the Finance teams

Qualifications:
University / College degree in finance / accounting
Work experience
Qualified accountant with minimum of 10+ years working and management experience in a multinational corporate environment, with exposure to some of the following areas:
· Financial and Management Accounting, Controlling & Reporting processes
· Accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP, etc..) / Statutory knowledge, experience
· Experience on people management / management of big teams
· Internal / external audit experience and/or SOX
· Experience with Shared services process activities
· Process improvement
· Project / change management
· Business experience and understanding
· Risk assessment
· Proven strong stakeholder and expectations management skills
· Ability to work to meet priorities and manage tight deadlines
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, customer focused attitude
Language skills
Fluent in English (and native language when applicable) Able to communicate effectively
Other languages within geographical area is advantage
