DUTIES
1. Financial Reporting
Prepares and assists in the preparation of financial reports, as required, by coordinating data collection, ensuring reported amounts agree with control accounts; conducts analytical reviews and ensures that the financial reports are produced timely and accurately, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, policies and practices.
2. Accounting Controls and Processing
Establishes and maintains appropriate and adequate controls in the preparation of accounting data, processing of transactions and preparation of reports; recommends improvements as required to ensure accurate, complete and timely accounting in compliance with applicable generally accepted accounting principles, policies and practices; prepares and verifies as appropriate, reconciliation reports with control accounts; undertakes initial investigation of discrepancies for review by supervising staff; gathers and analyzes statistical data or information from a variety of sources to produce timely and accurate reports; reviews the accuracy, consistency and propriety of supporting documentation for all claims, payments and other transactions in compliance with established accounting practices, procedures and guidelines.
3. System Requirements
Ensures accuracy and reliability of systems; initiates changes to existing systems and coordinates the need of the work area with OIST/external consultants through the International Staff.
4. Data Entry
Inputs collected, verified and approved information or data into a relevant computer database; retrieves data upon request from computerized systems.
5. Client Relations
Coordinates and provides required information in accordance with established procedures in a tactful manner.
6. Others
Performs any other duties as may be required by the immediate supervisor in relation to the function of the Controller's Department, including preparation of draft memoranda, external correspondences, training materials and other ad hoc tasks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
a) Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration
b) Certified Public Accountant with 5 years of work experience
c) Strong technical knowledge of financial products gained from banking or financial institutions
d) Excellent command of written and spoken English
e) Advance computer skills with sound knowledge of common work-processing spreadsheets and graphics software; and familiarity with computer systems used generally in ADB (Excel, MS Word, Powerpoint)
f) Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
g) Ability to work with minimum supervision
