The IRM Risk Senior Officer - WFICSS is a key role for providing second line risk management support for IRM Oversight strategy in Philippines. This role will serve as a key point of contact for Wells Fargo Clearing Support Services (WFICSS) for matters pertaining to Risk including Operational Risk, Compliance Risk, and Strategic & Reputational Risk. WFICSS would be focused on providing broker dealer services (starting with trade support, with plans of expansion) to domestic US clients from its delivery center in Manila. The incumbent in this role will face off with the Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) business and control teams to understand the risk profile of activities being carried out in WFICSS and will collaborate with respective IRM I&P leads of these risk types who own the delivery of risk oversight. The role is required to bring in thought leadership for risk activities and in this capacity this role reviews and challenges the front line. The role will report to the IRM Oversight Philippines Lead.
Job Description:
Act as the primary second line (IRM) contact for WFICSS for providing risk management support.
Collaborate with various verticals under IRM Oversight and bring together the macro IRM level view of top risks, issues, priorities, challenges, events and regulatory interactions for WFICSS.
Develop deep understanding of functions operating out of WFICSS and their risk profile and come up with risk management strategies suitable to the unique risk profile.
Identify the specific regulatory, business and transition risks associated with the WFICSS operations and provide expert risk guidance and support.
Pe part of relevant risk/control and management forums in WFICSS to provide consolidated IRM view, guidance and challenge.
Work closely with the SME teams in IRM I&P (Compliance, Operational risk, Tech/Info security risk, Human Capital risk, Third Party risk, Reputation risk etc.) for delivery of risk assessments, programs and routines for WFICSS.
Identify opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of IRM oversight and drive/ contribute to change projects and programs.
Thoughtfully, independently and credibly provide the cross-functional view on IRM Oversight matters to complement the specific risk type expertise provided by the IRM Oversight leadership and team.
Ensures reporting, escalation, and remediation of issues, deficiencies or regulatory matters for IRM Oversight to senior leaders, Committees, and appropriate business management in WFICSS.
Build and sustain a strong risk culture including a balanced approach through working in cooperation and consultation with all lines of defense across the enterprise.
As part of IRM I&P extended leadership team, play active role in shaping up and execution of risk management programs, and drive/support specific initiatives for I&P.
Required qualifications:
Overall 12+ years of experience with a minimum of 8+ years in operational risk or compliance;
Knowledge of Operational Risk and/or Compliance Framework
Proven experience in aggregating diverse risk type information, and creating management reporting suitable to various stakeholders
Experience with conducting risk assessments, assessing the adequacy of policies, procedures, processes, and compliance and operational controls in a significantly large and complex organization
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
