We are looking to hire a dependable researcher to work on various company research projects. The researcher's duties include intense data gathering through public and private sources, primarily through the internet. Candidate will use the internet, and some outbound calling to collect accurate data and build a functional database / repository for research. Candidate should expect weekly data gathering objectives and weekly presenting of findings. Candidate will interact with management and other stakeholders frequently. You should be able to deliver presentations and communicate effectively at all levels. Candidate should have a basic understanding of telecommunications such as broadband as a product. But it is most critical that candidate be an independently driven resource who uses all tools at their disposal to locate and record data about the cities, counties and States to which the requests are centered.
To be successful as a researcher, you should be resourceful, and demonstrate excellent time management and investigative research capabilities. Outstanding researchers are passionate about their ability to find information quickly and accurately and can meet strict deadlines.
Job Description
Interpreting research specifications and developing a work plan that satisfies requirements.
Conducting desktop research, and using books, journal articles, newspaper sources, census data, government and education websites to gather data.
Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google Documents / OneDrive.
Recording findings by taking written notes and using appropriate software.
Maintaining and protecting electronic databases.
Thinking outside the box, if the public internet does not produce the information, calling government offices within the target communities will be essential.
Anticipating research issues and promptly resolving them.
Promptly reporting any problems to the relevant stakeholders.
Following a strict code of ethics and protecting any confidential information at all times.
Recording research information and delivering presentations when required.
Qualifications
Solid experience in a research field.
General familiarity with telecommunications, like broadband offerings from an Internet Service Provider. (basic and general knowledge)
Sound understanding of research methodologies.
Proficiency in MS Office Products.
Strong statistical and mathematical aptitude.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Practical experience in database management.
Attention to detail and exceptional written, verbal, and telephonic communication skills.
Independent investigative research skills
