THE OPPORTUNITY
The Program Specialist for Health and Nutrition is responsible for strengthening the quality of the Early Childhood Development (ECD) and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) thematic areas. The post-holder will bring a technical specialization into the team advising program and project teams in the development and emergency settings.
Further, as the Program Specialist for Health and Nutrition:
You will provide technical support in the assessment, planning, and implementation of the program initiatives. S/he is responsible for coordinating activities including the systems of quality control, monitoring; evaluation, and integration with other programs.
You will review and analyze relevant baseline survey results, information, and research work at local, regional, and national levels.
You will review project outlines and proposals.
You will influence develop mechanisms and strategies for the effective implementation of ECD & SRHR standards in the project areas.
You will conduct field visits to provide direct and immediate assistance to the various projects.
Plan International is a development and humanitarian organization. In exceptional cases, you will be asked to support emergency response activities in the communities in your assigned covered areas.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
To be successful in the role you will need among other things:
Bachelor's degree in Health or any related field. An advanced degree is an advantage.
At least five years' work experience in implementing health programs, especially in early childhood care development or SRHR.
Relevant training or knowledge on Nutrition, Early Childhood Care and Development, Child and Maternal Health, Adolescent Health, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and/or, Water, Hygiene, and Sanitation (WASH).
Ability and proven experience in establishing good relationships with stakeholders.
Proven and practical experience in providing technical support and advice to field staff or implementation partners
Good command of oral and written communications.
Able to exhibit skills in teamwork, integrity, and transparency; proactive, gender-sensitive and, adhere to child rights.
Collaborative work style and eagerness to continually learn and grow
Applicants must be based in the Philippines and a Filipino national.
