We are looking for HELE teachers who will be responsible to teach Home Economics as a subject to Primary School students. We welcome teachers who are interested in progressive education, student-centered learning, and building relationship-driven environments. We need proactive, open-minded, passionate, collaborative, and reflective teachers. (Note: Keys School Manila is in an online learning environment for AY 2021-2022).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Head HELE classes together with a teacher partner
Help students build essential life skills in nutrition, cooking, budgeting, consumer education, etc.
Prepare and implement lesson plans, provide feedback to students, grade student work, attend required faculty meetings
Keep lesson requirements within budget issued by the school
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Relevant work experience gained as a HELE teacher, teaching assistant, or primary school teacher is an advantage
Proficient in baking and cooking
Having entrepreneurial experience is an advantage
LET certification is an advantage
Preferably graduates of Education/Teaching/Training, Business, Commerce, or Hotel & Restaurant Services
Excellent spoken and written English communication skills to talk to parents and colleagues about students' progress
Has patience and enthusiasm for children and able to understand student's emotional needs
Can adapt and respond calmly to overwhelming and difficult situations
Is adaptable to learning the philosophy and policies of the school
Comfortable using technology and apps (Zoom, Google Suite, Seesaw, Microsoft, macOS/ iOS, etc.) in an online environment
Has equipment and a stable internet connection to be used for teaching
