Do you have a passion for pfSense? Is your family crest the pfSense logo? Did you set one pfSense for your mother and have multiple running in your personal lab? If you answered yes to at least 2 of the above, we want to talk to you! At Offensive Security we use many pfSenses, firewalls and VPNS deployed on demand to host our lab environments. We’re looking for someone who can help scale our current environments and help further automate our future deployments.
Responsibilities of the pfSense and Firewall Superhero
Use pfSense to create new lab environments which service thousands of customers
Automate pfSense to create on-demand lab environments
Scale and configure firewalls to handle VPN connections to individual sandboxed VLANs
Documents and tracks new deploys and configurations in the configuration management system (Ansible)
Creates new unique lab types monthly
Deploys labs to scale with demand daily
Actively searches for systems in need of additional documentation/automation
Serves as a knowledge resource for the rest of the team on pfSense and firewall/VPN technology
Evaluates new and emerging products, technologies and make recommendations concerning the introduction of new technologies
Stays up to date on new pfSense releases and how they affect the fleet
Requirements
Strong networking and switching experience
2-4 years pfSense experience
2-4 years system administration experience
Comfortable working in complex systems and environments
Experienced with multiple cloud hosting providers - AWS, Digital Ocean, RackSpace, etc.
Ansible or other configuration management experience
Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or other related field
Programing experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to present technical ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
System administration experience
Linux Systems
VMWare
Nice to Have
Experience supporting systems through a SDLC - Dev, Staging Prod workflows
OSCP
Significant programming experience
