Job Summary
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for various aspects of payroll-related functions, including administration, distribution, and recordkeeping. This includes but is not limited to, processing accurate employee payrolls, assisting employees with any payroll-related items, and partnering with sites to ensure seamless and cohesive communication occurs that meets deadlines for payroll submission and other payroll-related responsibilities. This position requires a team player who can work well in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibilities:
Process all aspects of the payroll function for assigned pay companies.
Ensure all US and Canadian payrolls are completed accurately and on time.
Ensure proper documentation and records are maintained.
Ensure compliance with garnishment processing.
Comply with all US and Canadian federal, state/province, and local payroll tax requirements.
Participate in systems implementations relating to payroll.
Maintain payroll files and records.
Maintain a good working relationship with the payroll team and other departments.
Work with third-party vendors, as needed.
Assist with audit requirements.
Assist with providing required reports to different teams.
Maintain customer service by assisting employees with payroll related questions, as needed.
Interact with others in a way that enhances understanding and respect, perceive the needs of others, develop relationships, and effectively deal with conflict.
Develop desk procedures for all assigned payroll activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification:
3-5 years of experience in payroll processing.
Prior experience with payroll processing systems (e.g. Workday, Deltek).
Prior experience supporting payroll for multiple sites preferred.
Prior experience processing payroll for the US and Canada.
Prior experience supporting payroll system implementations is a plus.
Excellent proficiency in MS Office applications, primarily Excel.
Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.
Demonstrate solid judgment ensuring integrity, compliance, and confidentiality.
