JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•Ensure payroll tax payments are in compliance with applicable federal, provincial and local tax laws and regulations for both Canada and USA
•Prepare and process Canada and USA bi-weekly payroll files for both regular pay and commission pays, enter new hire stats, termination pay calculations and ROE preparation
•Oversee and assist with Manila payroll
•Provide prompt, concise regular reporting (bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual as required) on a variety of payroll related items including salaries, hourly wages, OT, vacation, etc.
•Monthly balancing of payroll's and internal GL accounts
•Preparing Benefits and RRSP premium remittances and validating it vs payroll contributions
•Facilitate process improvement and system enhancement initiatives aimed at increasing overall payroll effectiveness and efficiency
•Making Payroll procedure recommendations
•Liaise with managers to streamline the data collection process to ensure timely and accurate time collection
•Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
•Minimum 5 years experience in a Payroll Coordinator role
•Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills
•Proven skills using varying communication styles to communicate across multiple levels of the business
•Strong computer skills are essential - Word, Excel and Outlook
•Above-average typing and data entry skills and be self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
•SAGE experience a definite asset
•Must be enrolled in CPA - PCP payroll courses
•Thorough knowledge of Employment Standards and Canada Labor Code
•Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems
