About the Role
Community Operations is pioneering how Uber manages rider and driver partner support around the globe and we're looking for a Timekeeping & Project Specialist to develop various support efforts in the Center of Excellence. The role will be the subject matter expert of the company's time-keeping system and the different intricacies of payroll related matters. In addition, this role will help in managing, supporting, and monitoring site level and regional projects related to time tracking and payroll.
The job entails coordinating with different departments such as HR and the regional Payroll team, as well as the employees in the company to ensure proper and timely payroll processes. The ideal candidate for this role should have excellent time-management, priority setting and organizational habits, as well as being able to work with people in different teams and functions.
This individual will work closely with leadership to make sure that the scope and direction of each project is on schedule, and meeting the objective it was designed for. You will be working with a driven project delivery team, employees, stakeholders, and management and will often be required to skillfully multitask.
About The Team
The Planning and Execution Team is responsible for leading strategy, planning, and delivery of banner projects and key initiatives across Uber's flagship centers of excellence in APAC. We are a diverse team of highly motivated individuals spread across our sites, collaborating with different sets of partners around the globe and in a wide variety of functions and departments. We have a small but highly capable and motivated team that drives APAC COE's regional and local strategy, goals and execution.
What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points
Estimate work efforts, define milestones and manage resources accordingly, while driving adherence and compliance with deadlines on deliverables as assigned to projects
Track progress, understand dependencies, communicate status to upper management and project stakeholders, and facilitate and coordinate schedules for meeting either locally or across sites
Proactively work to remove obstacles and enable forward momentum and progress. Manage issue escalations and provide support to teams balancing competing priorities.
Central point of contact for non-system payroll adjustments submit payroll manual adjustments as required and no more than within the bi-monthly cadence of the payroll calendar
Will work closely with operations, payroll, and workforce management to set thresholds, report issues and also approve schedule changes and swaps that fall within the same week.
Provide guidelines and help monitor changes in employment level and impacts on time tracking and payroll
Address any questions or issues in using time tracking in Workday (e.g. clock in and clock out). Escalate and liaise with Workday systems team and/or Regional Time Tracking Owner as needed
Ensure new hires eligible for time tracking are trained and briefed on their obligations and the impact to payroll
Should have prior experience or exposure to project management in a scaled services organization
Basic Qualifications
Experience in payroll process and time tracking for at least 1 year
Proven ability to be organized and detailed in completion of tasks
Exposure to leadership when it comes to reporting and/or creation of decks to represent projects and payroll reports
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence and motivate people at all levels across a broad variety of job functions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated analytical success and the capacity for developing / understanding strategy
Hands-on experience executing an initiative from start to finish. Achieves project goals while managing scope, time, quality and risk. Learns from failures as well as successes.
Ability to work with remote teams and across time zones to develop strategies and foster a cohesive and creative work environment
Excellent organizational skills to juggle many tasks without losing sight of the highest priority items. Ability to stay focused under pressure, prioritizing and managing and/or supporting multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Experience with spreadsheets to manipulate and report data accurately
